couldn´t make up a good title.

i´ve always been a pro-sharing person (i don´t know if that word even exist but i kinda like it :), so i have to tell that i´m glad people finally have noticed how important is not to spend a lot of money in buying stuff they aren´t going to use but once, so i think petite elöise had a point, but let´s be honest, c´mon people, 360 dlls to RENT a necklace?? 120 dlls the earrings?? really?? wow omg how much we are saving, this is awesome!! …bullshit.

I´m not going to spend 480 dlls on my jewelry, not even for my wedding, i mean, do you have any idea on how many things you can buy with that money? OK i know you´re not millonaire but may be you can pay something for the party or the ceremony, i don´t know, ANYTHING! i think this is a great start, sharing and not buying, but half of the population can´t afford those prices, and that´s for sure. So where´s the help? where´s the recession?

Certainly i´m not going to use that service, but i have to accept it´s a good idea, not available for everyone (and that´s a little ironic, because it´s supposed to be available… whatever) but at the end, a good idea.

What about sharing the car? that´s a good idea and available, less gas, less stress, less polution, les traffic, more chating, more smiles :) but i wonder why people don´t do that, why everybody is in love with the idea of having a car just for one single person, and how about the hummer´s customers, are they out of their minds? that´s not a vehicle that´s a monster, and let me ask you, do you really need such a car in a city?

And i have more questions too…
Do you really need Abercrombie?
Do you really need a Starbuck´s?
Do you really need a pair of Pumas?
Do you really need Burberry?

mmm… no.

I´m not telling i am the exception and i don´t wear and buy brands, but really, how much do we need them, and how much do we spend on them. I know i´m talking to myself cause nobody si going to change with this post, but i think what we honestly need, aren´t brands but a new way of thinking, stop thinking only about ourselves and how others are going to look us or what they´re going to think about us.

Start thinking of what´s the best for you and your planet, start sharing, stop being a non sense consumer.

out with the old, in with the new

i don't really care for this constant reminiscing of how great music was 4, 5, 6 or whatever decades ago.
i have always thought the beatles wouldn't tell their same success story if they had been a band trying to make their way today.
they had it very easy.
for starters there was no internet. so it was pretty much what you heard on the radio or whatever your brother, sister, neighbour, cousin, friend was listening to that you got to listen. yes. even if you were a rebel and refused to follow the flow. you were still following one. a smaller one but a flow. because there was no where else to turn to.
today millions of bands prove to be equally good, equally inventive, just as music-lovers as the rest... and they all want a spot in this very competitive market.those who achieve popularity in spite of the huge boundaries set today deserve real recognition.
they could have also become big decades ago, against a max of 30 popular bands and being played constantly over and over on the only radio station in town.
let's also remember the amazing beatles started as teen idols driving preppy young girls crazy much like the jonas brothers today. oh yes. they were commercial too. that opened many doors.

like i said i don't care for this reminiscing. out with the old in with the new.

that phrase may be appropiate for my previous point. however obsessed as i am with consumers and their behavior i have lately realized how far from true the phrase really is nowadays.
apparently we are not too much into buying new stuff anymore. and keeping the old is turning to be a great investment.
recession result or not the world is being transformed by our consumption models.
SHARING IS THE NEW BUYING.
why buy something new if i can trade with the one next to me and receive something "new" (not per se but it would be new FOR ME at least)and when i'm tired of my item i can just trade again.
that's why we hear now. no more renting cars. let's share cars. zipcar anyone?
i read an article in the new york times in which tweens explained how they traded clothes with their friends instead of buying new ones, this way they saved and still wear new clothes. let's all say: good bye abercrombie!
but my favorite one is without doubt a website promoting shared-jewerly among brides to be. apparently jewelry for your wedding should be amazing. which explains why it is totally overpriced. but what is the point if you are never using it again? just share it. and get the chance to wear jewels that would put that cool diamond from titanic (the one that caused all the 3-hour-mess just to get thrown into the ocean in the end) to shame. (http://www.adornbrides.com/ just in case you were interested)

is this a serious shift or just a fad?

oh yes, it is sunny…

But that isn't as funny as it seems, i mean after days and days extremely hot, how can it be possible sun would put a smile upon your face?

Picture yourself in a car, you´re like 30º C, and you don't move, not even a little, you have been there like 45 minutes so you're mad, then you start to move but not as fast as you want, only a few meters ahead, so you're still mad and that shinny sun isn't helping to make you feel happier, after 2 hours of traffic, stupid people and stupid sun you get home... let me tell you something, the last thing it's gonna remind you of happiness in this world is the same sun you think it's the most wonderful thing on earth. And this image it's not a unique example, it happens everyday, so i'm sorry but i can't find happiness in here.

Yesterday and the day before yesterday, it rained! i was kinda worried this shinny burning sun was endless! But thinking and writting about it, maybe The Beatles are right and "when it rains and shines... it's just a state of mind".

If i have to believe in someone, definitely i would and i do believe in The Beatles, who else has done what they did in their time, excuse me, but neither The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd nor Radiohead, David Bowie bla bla bla and all those greats bands in the world, no one has achivied what they achivied, i'm not talking about who's the best, or what music is better than the other, no no no, i'm talking about making a BIG DIFFERENCE in the world.

I heart Beatles :)

is it sunny over there?

funny how much you can miss the sun if it hasn't been around for long...
after waking up to piles of snow in your doorstep for months. somehow you stop associating it with happy times and hot cocoa.
a -not as unbearably cold- morning. when slush appears to be giving its final goodbye.
hopeful and naive as we are, you might get the feeling this too shall pass.
wrong.
it was not goodbye. just welcome to cloudy skies and cold cold cold days. more of those.
and then you pick up the phone.
listen to how everything is over there.
"oh and yes. here. it's so sunny here. so hot".
and then you realize you have conceived now a new association for happy times, the sun.
in the pursuit of the dream you try to forget all those things you are leaving behind.
never thought the sun was going to be one.
never thought I would miss it so much.
but naive and hopeful as we are, I hope the song is literally right... the sun will come out tomorrow.

Hi There.

I don´t know if it happens to everyone but the first time you write in your blog you don´t know if you´re just gonna post silly things or really interesting stuff, it happened to me, so… we´ll have to see. Guess this first post belongs to the not relevant category. That´s fine.
